Booking Terms and Conditions

Reservations

At the time of Reservation we require details of a payment card to secure your Reservation.  Certain discounted rates and Special Breaks require payment at the time of reservation which would be non-refundable.  When that is the case you would be advised of that at the time of Reservation.   

To fully discuss your precise requirements & preferences contact us direct - call 01726 833426 or email us.  We can take all details of your booking, and your payment card details, which would be held in a secure system. We will then confirm the details of your Reservation by email, or post if you prefer.

If you make your booking on our online facility this is a secure site and it is considered safe to provide your card details online. 
The Hotel will confirm your reservation as soon as it is processed. 
By making a booking you are agreeing to our cancellation terms as set out below. All offers are subject to availability and may be altered or withdrawn at any time.

Cancellations or curtailments of bookings

In the event that you cancel at any time prior to arrival, or fail to arrive on the booked date, your card details will be retrieved from our secure system and your card debited with an amount in accordance with our Cancellation terms as set out below. Any charges left unpaid at your departure, or any amount charged to you in respect of damage caused to Hotel property will be debited to your payment card.  By making this booking you are agreeing to our Cancellation Policy.
Cancellation terms, according to reservation value
Reservation value up to £400:  if notice of less than 48 hrs given, 100% of booking value due 
Reservation value up to £800: if notice of less than 7 days given, 100% of booking value due

 -  these terms apply at all times, unless we are able to re-sell the total reservation at full value.

Your card details are retained in our secure system for only one month after your departure, and are not retained thereafter.

No allowance can be made for curtailments or early departures, or for meals booked but not taken.

Full payment at time of Reservation is required for some discounted rates, Special Breaks and Offers and is non-refundable.  If this applies to your reservation you will be told this at the time of booking. . 

We regret that no reductions can be made, in high season, for rooms occupied by a single person

Smoking

All of the hotel buildings, including the bedroom balconies, plus the outdoor dining terrace, are non smoking areas, and guests are requested to respect the comfort of others -  there is nowhere on our site where we are able to provide covered shelter for smokers, and smoking is only permitted in the area of the car park. Cleaning charges will be applied to the account of any guest who smokes anywhere within the hotel structure.Should we be unable to re-let a bedroom for a period whilst cleaning/ defumigation took place, then loss of revenue will also be charged.

Pets

In order to maintain the level of cleanliness and hygiene expected by our guests, we regret we are unable to permit any pets whatsoever.

Children

The topography of our site makes it unsuitable for children, and we therefore must decline guests under the age of 16 years.

Access Statement

Please note that guests of any age, with mobility problems, may find the site challenging, and should consult with us for further information before making a firm booking. We regret that we are unable to make any further adjustments to access that would make it easier.  We would urge guests to discuss access with us before making a reservation.  Guests who do not do so, and subsequently decide upon arrival that the site does not meet their needs, would be liable for the Cancellation Fee of 100% of the total cost of their booking, as well as for any associated room bookings which would also need to be relinquished.
Please note that as part of our Health & Safety Policy, The Cormorant Hotel reserves the right, in extreme situations, to decline to accept a guest, whose apparent level of mobility could place them or other site users in additional danger, in the event of an emergency evacuation over our steep site. Our Cancellation Policy would also apply in this circumstance, if you had failed to discuss mobility & access with us beforehand, and/or failed to take our advice in the matter.

 

Specific Requirements
If you have very specific requirements relating to your room facilities it is recommended that you book by telephone directly with the Hotel. 
Please note that if at the time of reservation you fail to give us all information about your specific requirements, then we will of course do what we can to meet your needs once you are here, but if late changes involve the Hotel in additional costs, in respect of, for example, change of room / bedding etc, then any costs that the Hotel incurs as a result of making changes for you would be charged to your account.

Dietary requirements.

Many of our dishes can be successfully altered to accommodate specific dietary requirements, and where we can, we are very happy to do so, at no addtional cost.

If however entirely different dishes need to be prepared separately, and/or special foodstuffs purchased, in order to meet you dietary requirements, then such additional food purchases and preparation would carry supplementary charges.  

If you have special dietary requirements, that could have health implications if not followed,  then you must advise us of these in detail, prefereably at the time of making your reservation, and certainly prior to arrival.  Whilst we take every care possible to address all dietary needs,  our staff are not health professionals,  and the final responsibility must rest with you regarding what you choose to eat while in the Hotel.   If in doubt, as to whether any food offered you complies with your requirements, you must enquire of the staff before consuming it.  If you do not fully inform and liaise with us regarding dietary requirements then we can accept no liability. 

 

Check-in is from 2pm.

If it would be important to you to check-in earlier, please let us know, and we will advise you if it will be possible for your room to be available earlier on that particular day. If a check-in time of before 12.00hrs is required, a minimum of an additional quarter daily rate will apply.

Departures

Please vacate your room by 11 am on day of departure. Should guests prefer to vacate a room later, this may be possible, (please enquire ) but may be charged at half daily rate.

Payment of account

In full on departure, by debit or credit cards - we are no longer able to accept personal cheques
