Will Cornwall be the top UK holiday destination for the 8th time?!
Written by The Cormorant Hotel
Cornwall is once again in the running to be the Best UK Holiday Destination, and if the county wins, it will be the eighth time in a row. You can enjoy your own holiday here at our hotel in Fowey, Cornwall.
Cornwall has been shortlisted in the British Travel Awards 2016, and Visit Cornwall is encouraging everyone to vote and support the county. This year it will be competing for the top spot on the Best UK Holiday Destinations list against Devon, Northumberland, Yorkshire and Pembrokeshire in Wales.
Chief executive of Visit Cornwall, the county's tourist board, Malcolm Bell said: "I have always known that Cornwall is a premier UK destination with a premier offering but the fact that we are in the running to be awarded best UK holiday destination for an eighth year, and that it is voted by the general public, makes me feel incredibly proud."
There are also some top Cornwall tourist attractions up for awards. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are both up for the Best UK Leisure Attraction. The north coast town of Bude is in the running for Best UK Coastal Resort.
As well as these attractions it is easy to see why Cornwall is so popular with holiday makers in the UK, from the gorgeous sandy beaches, stunning cliff top views and interesting wildlife to discover.
If you love Cornwall as much as we do, voting is now open, until September 30. You can go vote for the beautiful county here.
