What's On? Foraging Course
When? Saturday 11th July
The Eden Project is hosting a course, held by foraging expert Emma Gunn. Gunn is the author of the fantastically titled "Never Mind the Burdocks" series of books, which looks at everything available across the British Isles to forage at different points of the year.
From 10am until 3pm, Emma will guide people around the Eden estate, and look at the abundance of edible goods provided by nature. The day will also include a lunch that those participating will have foraged themselves. If you are interested in taking part in the course, you can book your tickets at the Eden Project here.
What's On? Ex-Lifeboat Rally
When? Saturday 4th July
Fowey will see the return of the annual ex-lifeboat rally, which takes place on Saturday 4th July. The event is free to everybody, and will see ex-lifeboats - which are now owned privately - head to Fowey for members of the public to explore and learn more about. Visitors will be able to head aboard the boats, as well as meet the current owners who can explain to them a bit about the history of the vessel.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the rally, where the boats will be open for viewing by the public from 11am, until 4 pm at Berrill's Yard, opposite the lifeboat station. There will then be a parade of all of the boats heading down the River Fowey at 4.30pm, making this a day not to be missed!
