stay at our hotel near Fowey, Cornwall this September

Cornwall is an amazing place to visit every day of the year, and with the summer school holidays over but the weather still good, September is a great time to visit. Book up a few nights at our hotel near Fowey, Cornwall is the place to be!

It's the perfect time for walks

One of the best - and cheapest - ways of exploring beautiful Kernow is through walks. There are lots of fantastic walks you can start from the doorstep of our boutique hotel. Fowey is a great place for walks, with circular walks through the nearby countryside and picturesque town of Fowey and Polruan. There is also the South West Coast Path which provides you with fantastic views of the coast.

It's the Heritage Open Days

From the 8th to the 11th of September, all the great heritage locations across Cornwall are opening for a festival of history and culture. The open days happen every year over four days and the various events encourage you to explore the local historical treasures of the area. Close to our hotel is Gribbin Daymark, Shene Garden at Bodmin, St Lawrence's Church and the Looe Museum.

It's quieter

Couples and older visitors tend to avoid the busy summer school holidays in favour of the quieter autumn months of September and October. The crowds are gone from the towns and beaches, and you get the chance to explore a much calmer Cornwall, visiting places with less people about.

It's the place for food

September definitely seems to be the month of great grub. Our restaurant is a wonderful place for you to sample the best local and seasonal foods, and if you head out during the day, you can delight in great food when out and about. There is also the Great Cornish Food Festival in Truro on the 23rd and the Newquay Fish Festival on the 16th which attracts more than 20,000 visitors.

It's the time to get into the Poldark frenzy

Poldark's second series has started, and has been attracting many people to Cornwall where they film the show. Charlestown and Bodmin are just two places near our hotel they use as locations in the romantic drama, and with production of the show's third series about to start, you could see the stars yourself!
