Our outstanding food and wine list along with impeccable service are perfect for everyone, from those looking for casual dining to those looking for romantic fine dining. The Cormorant Hotel offers a full day of relaxation and fine food, and with its prime spot overlooking the River Fowey, there is not a better place to head to for food in Fowey.

What's on the menu?


Our talented Head Chef Dane Watkins takes great pride in choosing the best Cornish produce, using fresh local fish, shellfish and local meats, cheeses and vegetables - some of which we grow in our own garden.

The mouth-watering dishes on the A La Carte dinner menu include baked west country brie, seared local scallops with a white truffle mayonnaise and ballotine of ham hock - and they are just some of the starters!

On the main menu, we can cater to any dietary requirements, and you can choose delicious roasted fillet of local pollock. This comes with wild garlic croquettes, sautéed butternut squash, lobster tempura, crushed peas and butternut squash puree. Why not try poach-roasted breast of chicken with summer vegetable risotto, dried tomato crisps, sun-dried tomato and red pepper puree? We have also added pan-roasted breast of Barbary duck with confit duck leg ballotine, fondant potato, roasted vegetables, kohlrabi puree and spring greens to the menu.

And of course, you have to treat yourself to a dessert when dining out! With warm chocolate fondant, strawberry and Cornish clotted cream semifreddo, rhubarb and apple crumble or home-made ice creams and sorbets, you are spoilt for choice! We also offer an excellent cheese board comprised of four Cornish cheeses and homemade oatcakes with almond biscotti.

The Cormorant Hotel prides itself on the extensive wine list we offer, and we can provide expert knowledge about which dish will pair with which wine. The Cormorant Hotel also offers breakfast and lunch if you are seeking a lighter meal, and it is perfect for those staying with us or visiting Fowey on a day trip.

And for those of your bowled over by the extensive range of dishes, and want to try as much as they can, we also offer a six-course tasting menu at £60 per head. This gives you a chance to sample smaller portions of our most popular dishes, perfect for anyone who can't choose!

Kittow's Butchers is a family business providing first class quality meats, locally sourced whenever possible and also has their own beef herd.

Hanson Fine Foods offer a wide selection of Cornish and west country cheeses.

Fish For Thought provides us with locally landed fish and shellfish.

Richards Fruit & Vegetables are a greengrocer based in Par and sell quality Cornish crops.

Castang Wine Shippers are locally based and import the first-class wines featured on our extensive wine list.
