What To Do in Fowey in the Summer?
The Cormorant Hotel is a short distance from the harbour town of Fowey on the south coast of Cornwall, and there are loads of things to do in the area. Take a look at our guide to Fowey to find out about the shopping you can do in the town, cafes and pubs and the activities available such as kayaking on the river. If you are headed out for the day, a packed lunch can be provided for you on request. Cornwall boasts several walking locations, from hikes in the wild Bodmin moors to meandering walks along the South West Coast Path. The Coast Path goes around the whole of the Cornish coast and has been named as one of the top walking routes in Britain. There are several great coastal walks near Fowey and routes on Bodmin Moor taking you past ancient Neolithic and Bronze Age sites, offering stunning views over Cornwall’s rugged landscape.
The gardens of Cornwall are a highlight for many who visit, especially in the summer months. The tranquil gardens are bursting with colour, and you are sure to find a quiet spot to relax and breathe in the scents and admire the displays in bloom. Find out about the best gardens located close to our hotel and those which are worth travelling a little further to see on our guide to the best gardens to see in summer. And, of course, a trip to Cornwall wouldn’t be complete without having a cream tea – or one or two! Cream teas are a staple of Cornish culture and treat for everyone. In addition to the one you can tuck into on arrival at the hotel, there are lots of places in and around Fowey serving delicious cream teas, afternoon teas and homemade cakes!
