If you are a fan of the BBC series Poldark, then you'll enjoy this news! It has been reported that the Cornish TV drama will be on television screens for another five years.
A reported £50 million deal was agreed, meaning Captain Ross Poldark will be around until at least 2020, although the BBC are currently not commenting about the agreement.
Not only is this deal good news for viewers, but it is also believed to be worth millions of pounds to the Cornish economy, bringing new visitors to the area hoping to catch glimpses of areas they have seen on screen.
Doc Martin has had a similar effect on tourism within North Cornwall, thanks to showcasing the beautiful coastline.
However, Poldark could be seen as slightly different. It is not just set in Cornwall, but it essentially provides a snapshot of history, from the mining to the people. This engages the viewer, and often makes them want to learn more about a region they may not have previously known about.
If you are a fan of Poldark and are looking to visit Cornwall to learn more about the wonderful history of the region, or you are just looking for a place to relax and unwind, why not book yourself a room today?
