Fowey with St Fimbarrus Church in view, where music festival is being held - Cormorant Hotel

A new music festival is taking place in Fowey later this week, featuring an appearance from internationally acclaimed violinist Tasmin Little and trumpeter Crispian Steele-Perkins.

Fowey Valley Music is being held in September as a way of complementing the Fowey Festival of Words and Music, which occurs every spring.

Tasmin Little will be holding the first concert in St Fimbarrus Church when she opens proceedings on Friday 11th September. She will not only be performing some of the music which has made her a twenty-time BBC Proms performer, but also talking about her illustrious and extensive career.

Saturday 12th September will also play host to some music, with a Coffee Concert in the morning. This will offer the chance to the next generation of musical talent, with performances from young, prize-winning Cornish musicians.

This will then be followed in the evening by a performance from Crispian Steele-Perkins, who will also be offering a lot more than just an excellent, musical performance. He will be bringing along his collection of historical trumpets for viewers to see, as well as recalling a number of humorous musical yarns from his extensive career.

With this excellent event happening just a short distance from our boutique hotel in Cornwall, it offers a wonderful two days filled with music for those staying with us to enjoy. Why not pop along and take a look for yourself?
