Fowey has some world-class restaurants that not only take advantage of the delicious local produce and abundant seafood, but also take influence from countries such as France, Thailand, Malaysia, Italy and China!

fowey restaurants to visit

From award-winning restaurants to small family run restaurants, there is something for everyone in this part of the Duchy, and with that in mind we have listed four places you simply must visit when staying in our luxury hotels in Fowey.

The Cormorant Restaurant

We may be biased, but for good reason, our award winning two-rosette awarded restaurant overlooks the gorgeous River Fowey and our talented Head Chef Dane Watkins takes great pride in choosing only the best seasonal Cornish produce.

The delicious food, award-winning Wine List, and impeccable service will hit the spot for anyone, whether you want a fine dining experience or a more casual lunch or dinner date, with Dane creating a mouth-watering array of dishes using fresh local fish, shellfish, local meats and cheeses. Our award-winning Wine List has more than 70 wines and offers unusual grape varieties that you won't find anywhere else.

The Lugger Inn

This is a fantastic place to head after a day out enjoying Fowey's wonderful landscape, whether that's a day at the beach or walking the South West Coast Path, the Lugger Inn will be ready to refuel you with a wide variety of tasty dishes.

It's homely and rustic décor will put you at ease, before the food marvels your senses, seafood doesn't get much fresher than what you get here, with notable dishes being the mussels and the fish dishes on the daily specials board.

Couch's Great House

For a memory making fine dine experience, look no further than Couch's Great House, and while Cornwall is known for its relaxed atmosphere, this is one place to dust off your glad rags and spoil your other half to a night of luxury.

The bistro is in nearby Polperro and is in a low-slung cottage near the harbour, overseen by chef Richard McGeown, who worked his way up the culinary ladder by working for Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White and Raymond Blanc, among others. The result is old-school fine dining that includes mesmerising amuse-bouches, flavourful meat in wine reductions and decadent truffled poached eggs among other delectable delights.

Sam's is an excellent restaurant to take the whole family, and as soon as you step through the door you'll feel the sense of fun and relaxing atmosphere this place exudes.

The restaurant has 60's style vibe which is evident with the pink and green colour scheme and cosy intimate booths. Pop memorabilia adorns the walls and with the fun and retro background music lends to a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Sam's is known for its delicious, no frills dining and originally opened as a small burger bar, which is why burgers still feature prominently on the menu, with twelve varieties to choose from including beef, fish and vegetarian styles.
