Victoria Palace Theatre, home of Billy Elliot the Musical, now coming to PlymouthThe hit West-End show Billy Elliot the Musical is on tour across the UK and Ireland, the first time the musical will tour the country and will be in the South West for over a month.

The musical arrives at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on Wednesday February 24 and will be on until Saturday April 2. The hit show will be a great evening out for those staying at our luxury hotel in Cornwall, The Cormorant.

Based on the 2000 critically acclaimed film of the same name, Billy Elliot the Musical has followed in its footsteps to be loved by critics and audiences alike. The show has been seen by nearly 11 million people over 5 continents and is the recipient of more than 80 awards internationally, including five prestigious Olivier Awards and ten Tony Awards. Last year the play also celebrated its 10th year at the West End's Victoria Palace Theatre

90 boys have now played the title role of Billy Elliot and the four boys who are taking the title role during this tour are Adam Abbou (12, from Liverpool), Matthew Lyons (11, from Leeds), Haydn May (11, from Bath) and Lewis Smallman (12, from West Bromwich).

The musical has been brought to life by an award-winning team who were also behind the film, including director Stephen Daldry, writer Lee hall, choreographer Peter Darling and the music was composed by Elton John.

Set against the background of the miner's strike in a northern mining town, Billy's journey goes from the boxing ring to a ballet class where he discovers a passion for dance and inspires his family and local community, changing his life forever.

Tickets are priced between £25 and £59.50 and can be booked online at www.theatreroyal.com or by calling the box office on 01752 267222.
