Great British Bake Off Fowey Cornwall | Safe Harbour Inn Michelin Starred Chef Nathan Outlaw Food & Drink | The Cormorant Hotel & Restaurant Golant Fowey's amateur bakers gathered together this week to take part in a bake off, showing the town's community spirit.

The competition was held at local pub the Safe Harbour Inn and was judged by three-Michelin- starred chef Nathan Outlaw.

Nathan, who was trained by Rick Stein, crowned Sam Tamblin the winner, with her delicious chocolate and banana cake beating off all-comers.

The Michelin starred chef was at the competition at the behest of the landlady, who also happens to be his mother-in-law.

Landlady Carol Morris said: "He's my son-in-law, so it made sense for him to come and judge, and I'm really grateful that he did.

"It was great to see so many people turn out."

Nathan had to taste 16 cakes as judge - but said he didn't mind! "It's a tough job," he said, "but someone's got to do it!"

There may still be some cake left if you fancy popping in to the Safe Harbour during a stay at luxury Hotels in Fowey.
