The Fowey Valley Music Festival is on for the second year near our boutique hotels in Golant

Back for a second year, the Fowey Valley Music Festival is bringing world-class classical music to the lovely town of Fowey. If you are staying at the best of the boutique hotels in Golant, The Cormorant, next weekend, be sure to check out the amazing music!

Friday 16th and Saturday 17th have an excellent lineup of Britain's popular classical musicians. Classical guitarist Craig Ogden and clarinettist Emma Johnson, MBE, are headlining on the Friday and Saturday respectively. On Saturday, you can also get the chance to see young musicians in concert in the afternoon.

Australian-born classical guitarist Craig Ogden will take the stage on the Friday evening. One of the UK's most highly acclaimed artists and a star of Classic FM, Ogden's programme in Fowey will almost be a history of the guitar, featuring music from the Elizabethan age to jazz and flamenco.

Emma Johnson shot to fame as a BBC Young Musician of the Year and has gone on to become one of the nation's favourite woodwind players. One of the few clarinettists to have had a successful solo career, she has performed in venues all over the world. Her performance in Fowey on the 17th September will have a pre-concert talk for friends of the festival. Emma will be joined on stage by pianist John Lenehan whose performances have also been met with worldwide acclaim.

The venue for the festival is the attractive and ancient church of St. Fimbarrus. Its natural acoustics make it a perfect venue for the concerts.

Feedback from the 2015 Fowey Valley Music Festival was very positive, with visitors saying: "Wonderful both nights! Such a pleasure and privilege for us. Very many thanks for such hard work and ability to get two such spectacular soloists and performers for us." Let's hope the second edition of the festival gains as much success and praise!

Tickets for all three concerts are just £25, and it is possible to purchase tickets on the door for all three events. For full details of Fowey Valley Music Festival head to the website here.
