Fowey Mussel Fest starts this evening
Written by The Cormorant Hotel
The festival starts this evening with live music from Opium on Fowey Quay before the festival gets into full swing tomorrow morning.
Saturday will see cooking demonstrations taking place on the quay throughout the day, including one from our very own head chef Dane Watkins.
Classically trained Dane, who trained under two separate Michelin starred chefs, will show off his skills in the festival tent on Fowey Quay, as he cooks mussels with a variety of different sauces.
Dane, who has been head chef at our hotel in Fowey for more than a year, said he was looking forward to the festival.
"Fowey's always really busy for the festival and I'm looking forward to rubbing shoulders with some of the other excellent chefs who are taking part," he said.
"It's lovely to meet and talk to other people with a passion for food and to talk about what I do to an interested audience."
The festival takes place in Fowey, just a few miles, or a 40 minute walk, from our beautiful location in Golant.
