Fowey Christmas markets approaching
Written by The Cormorant Hotel
That means there are even fewer days until the spectacular Fowey Christmas markets are upon us.
The annual Christmas market sees stalls take over the centre of Fowey, with crowds flocking to the town to buy gift and goods from stall holders. Fine foods and drinks are always on offer while a range of unusual, quirky and luxurious gifts are also sold at the market - not to mention traditional Christmas fare.
The market will be held over the weekend of December 5 -7 this year, so the time is right to start planning your trip and arranging hotel accommodation in Fowey, Cornwall, if you're planning on travelling from afar.
One option open to you is to enter our special Christmas competition.
We're offering one lucky winner and a friend or partner the chance to stay at the Cormorant over the weekend of the markets and enjoy dinner in our restaurant all for free. See our blog post for details of how to enter and for terms and conditions.
If you're heading to Fowey for the markets it's worth knowing that the markets are held in two venues - on Town Quay and in Fowey Leisure Centre, with the two linked by a short bus ride with special services running over the weekend.
One highlight not to miss is Father Christmas' arrival in Fowey on Friday night, when he crosses the river Fowey and walks through the town to the parish church for the official switch on of the Fowey Christmas lights.
Carol singing forms the basis of the night's entertainment on the Friday while there will be a Santa's Grotto among the stalls at the market all weekend long.
