Fowey Christmas market a huge success
Written by The Cormorant Hotel
The town was buzzing with excitement from Friday to Sunday with people turning out in huge number son Friday for the Christmas parade and returning in their droves over the weekend to visit the two market sites, where visitors were able to indulge in food, drink and Christmas gift buying.
With marquees on Town Quay housing around 60 traders, and Fowey Leisure Centre hosting another 65 traders visitors were given plenty of choice.
Several choirs and bands performed over the weekend, with a Christmas carol concert on Friday evening followed by live performances on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings.
One of the most popular moments came on Friday evening when Santa arrived by tug to Berril's Yard - followed by the Lantern Parade procession in which he marched to the church gates, then turned on the lights.
Although the market has been and gone for this year, there are still plenty of places to buy Christmas gifts in Fowey and the charming festive atmosphere around hotels in Fowey remains in place right on through to the New Year.
