Cornwall is more than just long sandy beaches, unspoilt natural beauty and cream teas, there is also a vibrant music scene, with some of the best music festivals and events happening in the Duchy.

With more and more musicians turning to Cornwall's ever growing music scene to showcase their hits, there's never been a better time to stay in our Fowey accommodation and watch some of the biggest names in music in beautiful Cornish surroundings.

With so many events happening down here in glorious Cornwall this year we thought we'd give you a helping hand by listing five of the best musical performances and events below:

The Masked Ball - 26th, 27th, 28th May

The Summer Masked Ball in Cornwall is becoming a staple to kick off the British summer festival season and this one is like no other as the organisers this year are promising 'A Voyage Through The Underworld' on the cliffs of Porthleven.

Alongside the many themed tents, this year will see a psychedelic train ride that will take you to a Brixton squat in the 1980s, a Chicago blues club in the 1940s, a New York disco in the late 1970s and Manhattan speakeasy in the 1930s.

Artists confirmed so far include Hot Chip, 45 Live, Cuban Brothers, DJ Food, Dicky Trisco, Felix Dickinson, Honey Soundsystem, Horse Meat Disco, Jelly Jazz, Justin Robertson, LTJ Experience, Man Power, Norman Jay MBE, PBR Streetgang, Psyckemajik, Spiritual South, Space Echo and Tiger and Woods with many more set to be revealed.

Eden Sessions - June 16th and July 6th

We spoke recently about all the wonderful things that you can do at the Eden Project, and the famous biomes play home to some musical superstars as well.

June 16th sees iconic ska performers Madness, perform their sing-along tunes where they will rev up the Cornish crowd with tunes such as 'Our House' and 'Baggy Trousers' to name a few!

A week later Bryan Adams will be belting out his massive array of hits that include Run To You and (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, when he will appear on Thursday, July 6.

Rock Oyster Festival - July 7th and 8th

A big summer party that is a foodies heaven overlooking the estuary with sumptuous food, live musical performances, fun activities for children and non-stop entertainment make for a fun family event. South West bands Land Of The Giants and Backbeat Soundsystem are among the 2017 lineup with many more to be announced.

Port Eliot Festival - July 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th

This has long been considered Cornwall's most artistic, weird, wonderful and intriguing festival with this year's event celebrating the late, great David Bowie. Critically acclaimed theatre and film producer Robert Fox will be coming to Cornwall to discuss Lazarus, the musical written by David Bowie and Enda Walsh, which ended its London run on January 22. Mr Fox also co-produced Lazarus so he will be giving a talk on his experiences with Bowie as they created the much-lauded musical.

There will be a special late-night screening of The Man Who Fell to Earth, the 1976 film, on which the musical is based as well as performances from The Lilac Time, Nick Lowe and much more.

Boardmasters 2017 - August 9th, 10th, 11th,12th and 13th

Cornwall's biggest music event hosted 150,000 music and surf fans to the golden sands of Watergate Bay and this year's looks set to be even bigger!
