The next time you stay with us here at our stunning Fowey accommodation, don't miss out on a wonderful visit to the Eden Project. A mere 20-minute drive away from the lovely River Fowey rests the beautiful Eden Project.
Upon entering the biomes, you understand why they say the Eden Project is a gateway for building a relationship between plants and people; the sheer scale of the rainforest is breath-taking as you navigate through it and learn about human relationships with plants while observing the steamy jungles and waterfalls within.
The Eden Project lays in the heart of Cornwall, chosen carefully by founder Tim Smit when he was looking for somewhere stunning and large to showcase the world's most important and fascinating fauna. The bubble greenhouse biomes nestle beautifully in giant natural craters.
As well as taking the time to explore and indulge in the amazing plant life on show, you can learn a lot too; not only are the biomes filled with intriguing facts about the habitats, terrains and fauna themselves, there is also an education centre which usually has an exhibition too.
The whole place is eco-friendly. You will begin to notice this as you walk around. They also have electric cars and vans onsite to preserve the peace and tranquillity as they are silent, and also to save on emissions.
The Eden Project hosts The Eden Sessions every year, so if you and your loved one are in the mood for a bit of a noisy evening, then have a look at what performers are playing; we have seen classics like Tom Jones and Lionel Ritchie play there over the years.
If you or someone you know is feeling brave; the thrill seeker is catered for here with England's longest and fastest zip line, it covers 660meters and goes up to speeds of 60mph. There is even a 65ft plummet over a cliff on a giant swing and a 12-meter platform leap. Saying that, the park is fun for family and there is always something for everyone here, young and old. We recommend visiting their website for details on upcoming attractions and events.
Amazingly, you can book in with the Eden Horticulture Team and learn how to garden, with a diverse range of courses to enjoy, from flower cutting to understanding the makeup of plants. On top of that, the biomes are home to around two million plants, ranging from the endangered Bottle Palm and the Dragon Arum. There is something new to see around every corner.
