Cornwall the "ultimate" holiday destination for Brits this summer
Written by The Cormorant Hotel
Cornwall continues to trump all regions of Britain, as well as abroad, for being the favoured holiday destination for the British public this summer.
Three quarters of the British public plan to take holidays in the UK this year rather than heading abroad, and Cornwall is at the forefront of many people's plans.
The survey was run by ATS Euromaster, who carried it out as part of mark their 50th anniversary. It was revealed that the British public also want to be no further than a mile from the coast and 2 miles from a local shop.
The poll was conducted on around 2,000 adults, and found that the 66 per cent who are yet to go away this year will remain in the UK. This is alongside the 72 per cent who have already been on holiday, and remained in Britain.
Cornwall was a favoured choice, as many claimed they enjoyed the fact they could leave their home and arrive at their holiday destination in the same day, often with time to spare.
The region is of course no stranger to topping polls, and was voted as the UK's best holiday destination at the British Travel Awards for the sixth year running in December 2014. The Eden Project, located near our hotel, Fowey was also a big winner, picking up the gold for the Best UK Leisure Attraction for the fourth year running.
So if you are looking for the "ultimate" holiday this summer, why not book into the Cormorant Hotel and find out for yourself why Cornwall is a beautiful place to be?
