Charles and Camilla visit Looe
Written by The Cormorant Hotel
Thousands of people headed to the small fishing port on Monday, when the royal couple paid their annual visit to Cornwall.
The couple, accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall Edward Bolitho, smiled and waved to well-wishers during the visit, having chosen to visit the town following floods which affected it last winter.
The town is just a few miles from Golant and offers our guests plenty of opportunities to get out and about and experience the unique Cornish way of life - which is exactly what Camilla and Charles did, as their arrival in the town was heralded by the Polperro Fishermen's Choir singing on the quayside.
Guests at luxury hotels in Cornwall are also afforded the chance to see the charming sight of fishermen holding al fresco concerts each month during the summer, with the Polperro Choir regularly performing in Looe.
The couple also visited the RNLI Lifeboat Station - another option open to tourists with both Fowey and Looe lifeboats opening their doors to the public regularly during the summer.
There were also visits to the local fish market, the quayside market and a local orchard - all options for regular visitors to the area.
So on your holiday to Cornwall you could have a royal experience, just don't expect to be presented with gifts at each of the places you visit!
