BBC show Poldark is becoming a huge draw for Cornwall with fans coming from all across the UK to follow in the footsteps of lead actor Aidan Turner. The third series is currently being filmed at various locations across Cornwall, some not far from our boutique hotel in Golant.

Poldark fans who recently spent the day watching star Aidan Turner filming scenes at Botallack - a mining village near Penzance - were thanked with a special treat from Ross Poldark himself. The women watching the action on Tuesday received a signed picture of the man himself.

One of the women, Jan Walker, on holiday in Cornwall from Lincolnshire, said she had she had been a fan of the original 1970s Poldark series and had also seen the show filming in Cornwall the previous year.

She said there was lots of other extras and actors milling about as they did a number of takes for one scene at the mine. Jan said the actor seemed happy while filming, and could see him, “skipping around and laughing and joking with people.â€

Turner has been spotted at various places in Cornwall in recent weeks for filming, as well as being seen shopping in St Austell, which is not far from our hotel in Golant.

When on your holidays in Cornwall you could see some of the stars yourself when out and about, and also follow the footsteps of the cast and crew at various stunning Cornish locations, such as Bodmin Moor and Charlestown.
