It certainly has been a busy week in Cornwall for filming, as yet another BBC drama gets the Cornwall treatment, with an adaptation of Agatha Christie's crime novel "And Then There Were None" taking advantage of the Cornish coast.

Filming on rugged Cornish coast near our Golant hotel - The Cormorant

Poldark star Aidan Turner certainly seems to enjoy visiting the region, as he is set to star in the series alongside Hollywood legends Sam Neill and Charles Dance.

The novel by Christie still holds the record for being the most successful crime book of all time, selling over 100 million copies worldwide. The murder mystery is set on an island off the coast of the South West, as Europe prepares itself for the start of the Second World War.

Ten strangers find themselves on the island, where one member of the party mysteriously dies, the rest soon realise they may have a killer in their midst. The three part series is set to be aired later this year, as part of celebrations of Christie's 125 birthday.

Christie, having been from the South West herself, drew her inspiration with the rugged beauty of the coast, which can be admired just a short distance from our Golant hotels front door. This most certainly will not be the last time a film crew heads to Cornwall to shoot, and we eagerly await the next arrival!
