Although it's a quieter time of year here in Cornwall, winter is still an excellent time of year to visit the region, and there are still plenty of things going on near our hotels in Fowey, Cornwall. Below are just some of the events you can get involved with this week:
First daffodils of the season bloom spectacularly early in Cornwall

The UK's unseasonably warm start to the winter has meant that the first daffodils of the season have bloomed in Cornwall, weeks before they are usually expected.
Eden Project apply for EU funding for geothermal plant
24th November 2015
The plans to create a geothermal energy plant at the Eden Project look to be back on the table, as they have reportedly applied for an EU grant to complete the work. Although planning permission for the project was first gained back in 2010, the plans were temporarily halted due to not being able to raise sufficient funding for the project.
Fowey Christmas Market returns for its 11th year

The Fowey Christmas Market is returning for the 11th year this December, and will be bigger and better than ever! Since it first started in 2005, it has grown into the largest (and the best!) Christmas Market in Cornwall, and has developed so much, it now has to be hosted on two different sites to cope with the demand from traders.
Meteor shower peaks over Cornwall tonight

The annual Leonid meteor shower is set to peak in the skies over Cornwall on the evening of November 17th, promising a spectacular show of shooting stars. The Leonids are so called due to them sharing the same origin point. If you traced all of the meteor trails backwards, they would meet within the constellation Leo the Lion.

First "hybrid" pasty made using ingredients from Devon and Cornwall

A company in Devon has created what is believed to be the first ever hybrid pasty, which uses ingredients from both Devon and Cornwall. Venus Company are based in Totnes, and have worked together with the Posh Pasty Company to create a unique steak pasty.
Cornish coastline inspires new art exhibition
3rd November 2015
A new exhibition has opened at the Royal Cornwall Museum, which is inspired by the rugged Cornish coastline and encourages people to make connections with the coast for themselves. Cornish ceramicist Paula Downing has created Edge, which contains hand-built, expressive pieces of art that are inspired by the waves and clifftops of Cornwall.
