Could Cornwall hold answer to prosecco shortage?

Experts have warned that due to a recent boom in the popularity of prosecco, there could be a drought of the bubbles not only across Britain, but the world! It has been claimed that current supplies may only last for two months, after a 55 per cent increase in popularity in Britain alone last year. This is because the Italian tipple is seen as a much more affordable and often more enjoyable alternative to the champagnes from France.
Fowey garden designer wins Gold at RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Darren Hawkes of Fowey, Cornwall has created his garden entitled Brewin Dolphin, which has claimed gold at this year's Chelsea Flower Show. The garden is named after the wealth management company of the same name, for whom the garden was designed for. His garden features giant monuments handmade using 40,000 slate tiles, granite flag stones from an old Cornish farmhouse, and boulders for his dry stone wall, which were taken from farms in Callington and Lifton.

Study has found many animals produce their own sunscreen naturally

When we spend time in the sun, we are constantly reminded to apply sun cream throughout the day, in order to protect our skin against potentially harmful UV rays, which come from overexposure. So why isn't this the case for animals as well? Researchers at Oregon State University have found that various animal species found in the wild have the ability to naturally produce their own sunscreen, meaning they are protected against the ultraviolet rays.

Eden Project voted onto list of landmarks that define Britain

The Eden Project has been voted onto a long list of landmarks as one that defines Britain in the 21st Century. The list currently contains a range of landmarks and buildings, such as Stonehenge, the Shard skyscraper in London, and even The Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival. The competition is being run by the High Life magazine, which is owned by British Airways, and in association with The Independent newspaper.
Work finally begins on restoration iconic Fowey building

Construction work has finally got underway to restore the iconic Old Station Master's House, situated on the waterfront in Fowey. The building is one of historical importance in Fowey, and has recently fallen into disrepair. Planning permission had previously been granted in 2013 for the old house to be redeveloped, as well as the demolition of outbuildings and the construction of a new block which will house ten new homes and four commercial units.
