Ruth Rendell to speak at Fowey Festival

Internationally famous and prolific author Ruth Rendell is the star attraction at the Fowey Festival of Words and Music today. The star novelist is set to hold an hour long talk at St Fimbarrus Church this evening as part of the festival, which was originally known as the Du Maurier festival, after famous Cornish novelist and author of Jamaica Inn Daphne Du Maurier.

Top chef Michael Caines is set to host a spectacular meal in Fowey today as part of the town's annual festival of words and music. The Michelin starred chef is to host lunch for the friends and patrons of the festival from 12.30pm this afternoon before taking part in a live on-stage interview later in the day.
Ann Widdecombe is tonight's star attraction

Former political heavyweight and Strictly Come Dancing Star Ann Widdecombe is set to be the main attraction of the Fowey Festival of Words and Music this evening. The 67-year-old retired Conservative Member of Parliament for Maidstone, who lives just over the Cornish Border on Dartmoor in Devon, will hold forth at St Fimbarrus Church in Fowey to tell all about her recently published autobiography, Strictly Ann.
Fowey Festival gets underway

The annual Fowey Festival of Words and Music has started this weekend, with events taking place across the town. The festival, which was previously known as the Daphne Du Maurier Festival, is set to run all week, ending on May 17.

Par based Kittow's Butchers is the hotel's main meat supplier and has been responsible for providing our excellent kitchen with high quality local meat for its delicious range of dishes. Now the company has been honoured, yet again, in the annual Taste of the West awards.
